Many families are finding a nice side business in renting out their equipment or custom processing for others. We want to encourage this with this page so that anyone may post their machinery for rent, Featherman or not!
There's no catch. We know that the under 200-head flocks have a hard time justifying a plucker, much less a whole set of equipment. Why should they be denied the ease of processing on good equipment? How much easier would your start have been with rental equipment from down the road?
If that sounds like a cause you could get behind, please respond with an email (or video!) describing your equipment, where you live and your terms of rental. (Eg., $50 per day for a Pro plucker and 2 cones with $25 returned if they are all well cleaned). We will post it for free and update it whenever you have any changes. (We have heard reports of up to 20 rentals per year.)

Whizbang setup for rent in northwest Virginia (Winchester, VA area). I also have a cone stand and camp stove (with thermometer and large pot) that can be rented as well.
The deposit is $50. Or $25 for just the plucker and $50 for plucker and any of the other components for a weekend (pickup on Saturday and drop off on Sunday). Propane is not included in the price, though that can be provided for additional cost.
Delivery and pickup is possible, though there would be a distance
sensitive fee associated with it.
